GET THE LOOK: KEIRA KNIGHTLEY
Hollywood’s classic red carpet look gets a revamp. At the premiere of Duchess at the Toronto Film Festival, “instead of the usual, Keira opted for fall’s reddish-brown shades to achieve the smoky effect,” says Olivia Dee-Montenegro, makeup artist for Elianto.
To cop this new take on the smoky eye, start by prepping your face with moisturizer, concealer, and foundation. Apply cream-colored eyeshadow as your base, then use a red-brown or burgundy eyeshadow as your second color. Start on the base of your lashes and blend until your brow bone. Line the rims of your eyes with black eyeliner, then curl your lashes and apply two coats of mascara. Highlight your brownbones and the inner corners of your eyes with a champagne eyeshadow, and top off by filling your lips with a deep rose shade. Your eyes and lips do the talking here, so downplay your blush.
