When we talk about shopping, we end up thinking of the things we personally desire. It includes new clothes, bag, shoes, accessories, gadgets and the list goes on and on. However, if you are on a tight budget, everything should be within the limit or else, you will be in trouble.
It is indeed hard to spend on a budget especially if there are lots of good items. With this, people tend to spend a lot more than they should be. As a way to help you get rid of having zero balance on your savings account, you should follow this list of 5 important budgeting tips:
1. Create a list.
Before going to a mall, whether it is on sale or not, you must list down all the things you need to buy first. Just like the way it should be, you must purchase the things you really need at the moment. From the list, make the first one your top most priority. Make sure that you stick with it. Be disciplined enough that you must look on that priority before any other things.
2. Make a plan on the places you will be going.
If you have heard of a big sale going on a certain mall, encircle the dates on your calendar so as to reserve those days for a once-a-month sale. Before leaving the house, you must know where exactly you are going to. If there are many malls on sale, decide which one you would like to go first. Your day, as well as your budget, will be less of a hassle and more organized.
3. Decide whether you want to shop early or shop late.
Most probably, all hot items will be up by the first day of sale. If you want to grab that stuff without letting anyone to buy it before you, then you must shop as early as possible. However, if you want a much lower price, shopping late may be done. As what most manufacturers do, they sell it on lowered price on the last day so as to get rid of the items in order for them to give way to their new items.
4. Set a specific amount of cash to spend on.
Though it is heartbreaking to spend only what’s needed, it will help you save and organize your budget more. You need to be discipline enough not to bring all your money when you shop. Bringing only the budgeted amount will help you not to spend too much. Little cash on hand serves two purposes: staying on a budget and avoid losing accidentally.
5. As much as possible and whenever you can, bargain.
In order for you to get the item for a much better price, do not hesitate to bargain even a little. If you are planning to buy more than one item, you must ask for a lower price to the seller. Do not show you are excited to buy the items.
Shopping is indeed a relaxing therapy, especially for the ladies. So as to make this therapy truly relaxing, make sure you stick along with your budget.
