The Shoes that WORK: The Shoe Addict and the Corporate World
In
a world where entertainment seems to be the focal point of the lives of people,
there is really no question why what we see on television greatly affects the
choices we make every day. The daily wants before have now become a presumed
need, especially with regard to clothing and footwear. This cannot actually be
perceived as a negative thing since these trends push people to work to provide
for not only their basic needs, but for them toavail the latest gadgets and
apparel which are trending worldwide.
The Filipinos love watching their
most-awaited movies at the big screen, and most of them are highly influenced
by their favourite character. Not only that, television series also affect not
only housewives, but women at the working class as well. The all-time
favourite, “The Devil Wears Prada” and local series, “Ina, Kapatid, Anak” have
both made an impact on how ladies should wear their corporate attires with
style. However, the real question is, when it comes to an ordinary day at work,
what are the real parameters that employees and even employers must bear in
mind? Let’s start off with the shoes.
El Stilettos
Yes, many women would truly prefer to use
high-heeled shoes at work, especially if they have to be presentable, and this
is all due to a common belief that a pair of high-heeled shoes is the
forerunner of class and elegance. For most women, the higher their heels are,
the better. However, no matter what field you are into or regardless of how much
you love your job, you need to keep comfort at the top of your priority list.
We are talking about ordinary working days here, so this means keeping your
heels at a minimum when there are no formal gatherings and you think you’d have
a long day ahead. Anyway, cutting off 2 inches on your usual 4-inch footwear
would not hurt, especially if your job involves a lot of walking, standing or
even running here and there.
Too
Comfy to Wear
Anything that is excessive is never a good
thing, and that is the same with choosing comfortable shoes. If your sandals or
shoes are too comfortable, you can wear them while strolling in the park or
chilling out on the beach, then, you are wearing the wrong pair. Even though
flip flops may be allowed at your office and your boss is not really that
particular with what you wear as long as you get your job done, wearing
slip-ons has its downs too, and that is, you’d look so laid-back that it might
attract that level of laziness you want to avoid when you’re at work. If you’re
not really the type that would wear heels, opt for flats that would make you
look decent enough to face the corporate world.
No matter how you hate or love your job,
nothing can really beat the perks of having the right pair of stilettos as your
working buddy. Anyway, if chocolates can’t be your best friend, try a pair of
2-inched shoes.
