Travel Tip - Saving Cash on Flights

Planning to go out for a travel? Traveling by land, by sea or by air? Which do you prefer? As we all know traveling by air is the most convenient, fastest, easiest, and cozy way to go to the place of our destination, but airfare travel is quite expensive compared to road and sea travel. After knowing the amount of the airfare, we do usually have the second thought of purchasing air travel tickets. Expensive amount of airfare is usually brought by luggage fees and the non-stop rise of the fuel value. But don’t you worry here are some tips and advice on how to save cash on flights.

·         Flexible time – best way to save cash is your time flexibility. You should be able to adjust your time.  Commonly people prefer to travel during weekends (Fridays, Saturdays till Sunday). They usually travel after their working hours or otherwise they are coming from a business meeting. If you want to save your cash, never book your flight on those mentioned days. Instead schedule your flight on week days. Check also the flight timings. There are fly timings that most people don’t desire or prefer to travel, but this is the cheapest one. If you’re not in a hurry, choose for flights that have many stop over and long waiting time. Surely you will pick the cheapest air flight in town.

·         Do advance booking for your flight – if it’s possible for you, monitor the market and air flight’s cost. Study it for a period of time. After finding out the ups and down of the air travel cost, book your flight during the off peak season. If you able to study the airfare market, you will definitely find that twenty one days before the flight itself, airfare value will increase again. The price will move up rapidly. So book in advance and save your money.

·         Off peak season – well it depends with the nature of your travel. If you’re flying because of very important reason or maybe you want to be with the family during holidays, then it is not possible for you to take the off peak flights. Mostly holiday season are fully booked and crowded, so expect that the airfare is high. All of the seats are taken, and lucky you if you can be a chance passengerJ. Off peak season can be possible if you’re traveling for a personal reason only, and then try to take the season with fewer passengers. Most flights are full during December (Christmas and New Year) and April (summer vacation). Find a perfect timing for your personal holiday and save a lot for your getaway.

·         Check in online – some airlines billed you for the boarding pass that they will give you at the airport. So if you don’t want to pay this extra amount, check in ahead of time before you leave home or before you reach the airport. You will have two benefits at the same time, first you save your money for unknown extra bill, and second you save time. There’s no need to be in long queue. Be sure also that your hand carries item meet the standard size and weights that the airlines required. This it to avoid their luggage fees. Remember this and you will have a hassle free travel.

·         Search and Research – internet is always around. Don’t be contented to call one agency or don’t rely on one website only. Be patient, search until you will find a site that offers discounts and great packages for their flights. Otherwise activate your email so that you can receive updates from different companies. By this, you will be able to find a great travel agency that can meet your needs.

·         Foods and refreshment – we all know that there is a schedule for airlines to serve their food and drinks. In flights drinks and foods are expensive. Not only in flights but also inside the airport itself. Don’t starve yourself; bring food and water with you. There are so many foods that can be put inside your hand carry items, this can make you survive till the main course arrived.

·         Apply for a Frequent Flyer program- this is a great reward for you as their loyal passenger. Enjoy its benefits and avail of the companies discounts promos.
