Top Five Scottish Jewellery Pieces This Week!
OK so here are my top five Scottish jewellery pieces for the week. And I
promise I’ll leave out the scroll pendant I keep going on about. OK no I won’t.
Sorry, it’s too cute to pass over!
1: A filigree egg locket in the Royal Stewart Tartan. Or, indeed, any
Tartan you please. This ingenious little charmer is made from sterling silver
and opens to reveal a miniature scroll, which you can either order with a quote
on it or you can have a blank one and write your quote yourself. Famous authors
include Robert Burns (of course) and William Shakespeare.
2: A Flower of Scotland butterfly necklace. It’s hung from a 7mm Flower
of Scotland Tartan ribbon, and the butterfly itself is handmade – meaning every
one is unique! The butterfly is made from multi coloured glass and the whole
thing is presented in a rather lovely box.
3: Scottish charm bracelets. Tartan angels use Tartan colours to signify
a specific attribute – hope; love; happiness; promise; peace; and friendship.
I’ve also seen a gardening charm bracelet, perfect for those green fingered
ones who like to make sure they have a little help from the pixies when they
are getting their hands dirty! The gardening bracelet features a range of
pewter gardening charms and is trimmed with a dusky pink ribbon for a splash of
colour, Utterly heart-warming.
4: Ivory rose earrings. There’s nothing like the poetry of Robert Burns
to inspire a bit of beauty and the Ivory Rose earrings I saw are no exception
to that rule! The rose itself is made from resin, wonderfully detailed and
alluring. And the fixture is made from brass. The earrings can be worn alone,
or they can be matched with an ivory rose necklace and ivory rose bracelet,
both of which are made with roses in the same resin and a circlet of agates.
The ivory rose range is presented in a box complete with dusky pink ribbons.
5: I haven’t mentioned any children’s Scottish jewellery yet – forgive
me, here’s a late entry to this week’s top five, the children’s charm necklace!
These wonderful necklaces are sterling silver and hung on satin ribbons, which
may either be coloured in single colours or with clan Tartans. There are four
delightful little sterling silver friends to choose from – the Little Ted; the
Scottie Dog; the Little Rabbit; or the rather wonderful chick-in-an-egg
necklace! All children’s necklaces are high quality and they’re brilliant for
birthdays; christenings; friendship tokens; or bridesmaids. The necklaces are
designed to give easily when pulled, and they’re obviously not suitable for
young children.
So there you are – my top five pieces of Scottish jewellery for this
week! See if you can find any of your own before I find some more – and in the
meantime enjoy the sudden sunshine with a butterfly necklace of your own!
